for the David Morgan Music Trust
Thank you for your interest in becoming a trustee of the David Morgan Music Trust.
The David Morgan Music Trust is a fund created by the late David Morgan through his love of music and his hometown of Bromsgrove.
The objectives of the David Morgan Music Trust are:-
To advance the education of children and young persons by the provision of bursarships or scholarship or workshops to enable those in full-time education to study music, in particular but not exclusively, within the district of Bromsgrove in the County of Worcester.
To foster and promote for the benefit of children and young people in the district of Bromsgrove the advancement and improvement of general education, understanding and appreciation of the art of music.
We are actively looking for two new trustees to join our panel of trustees. Some of the qualities and attributes we are looking for in trustees are as follows, but we appreciate everyone will offer their own unique skill set and ideas for further developing the potential of the Trust’s outreach.
A good understanding of, and empathy with, the objectives of the trust.
Experience in education, work with charities, the arts world or the music industry.
An appreciation of the impact that musical experiences and tuition can have on young people.
Work with other Trustees to ensure that the Trust uses resources responsibly to benefit young people through music.
Act with integrity to take decisions impartially and fairly based on the best information available.
An understanding of what is already funded in schools, and an awareness of specifically the needs of young people in Bromsgrove.
A vision to identify exciting new opportunities and an appreciation of all genres of music.
A willingness to commit to attending four meetings a year. These are on Mondays from 4.30pm-6.00pm in Bromsgrove.
This is a voluntary role for this charity; unfortunately we are not able to cover any travel expenses, however tea and coffee is provided!
